Gel that reaches the thumb base, not just the wrist
Many wrist ice packs stop at the wrist, or have a simple hole for the thumb to pass through. The FMWCP1's gel pad is shaped to extend across the base of the thumb and the webspace between thumb and index finger — the area that tends to be involved when gripping, pinching or holding a phone is uncomfortable.
Stays flexible when frozen
The gel is formulated to stay pliable straight out of the freezer rather than setting into a rigid board, so the wrap follows the shape of the hand instead of pressing flat against it.
Adjustable, and fits either hand
A hook-and-loop strap lets you set how firmly the wrap sits. The wrap is symmetrical, so one unit works for the left or right hand.
Choosing your size
Measure the widest part of your hand.
- S/M — 2.6" to 3.5"
- L/XL — 3.5" to 4.5"
If you're between sizes, choose the larger one.
Cold and heat from the same wrap
Freeze it for cold therapy, or warm it in the microwave for heat — no separate products needed.
Session length and safety
Keep cold sessions to 10–15 minutes with breaks in between; smaller areas like the thumb generally need less time than a larger joint. Always place a thin cloth between the pack and bare skin, and never apply ice directly to skin. Stop immediately if you notice numbness, skin turning white or blotchy, or increasing pain.
When to get it checked
See a healthcare professional promptly if the thumb looks crooked or feels unstable, is numb, can't grip or pinch, has severe swelling or bruising, or started hurting after a fall or after being forced backward. These can indicate a fracture or ligament tear.
